All people with ambitions using cluster- or GRID-computing are encouraged to join the BFG meeting which will take place at the RECHENZENTRUM Universität Freiburg, Hermann-Herder-Straße 10, room 112.
Agenda:
1. Short status summary BFG/bwGRiD (~ 5min): Obsolete software will be deleted soon!
New software was installed. New scheduling policy on the bwGRiD.
2. Two e-Learning videos for the bwGRiD have been made and will be presented (~ 5min):
how to get a certificate and how to become a member of the VO bwGRiD.
Users who want to use the bwGRID (other Grid sites than Freiburg) should be members of the VO (Virtual Organisation).
3. bwGRiD virtual machine: It is a Ubuntu 32 bit virtual machine with pre-installed and configured software.
Learn how to use it along with the installed tools, including easy certificate installation and connection to all sites. The bwGRID VM has the same pre-installed environment on every OS (WIN, MAC, Linux).
4. Job submission: Multi node job submission will be shown using different tools and parameters.
Loging on to the cluster sites, mounting your user directories and other Freiburg specific tools will be demonstrated using the VM.
5. Questions: If you have any questions regarding the clusters (BFG/bwGRiD), a piece of software or your jobs, feel free to ask. You can suggest new topics for the next user meetings as well.
